Blue and White Valentine's with the Blue Eagles

Race to 1,000 cups was quite a huge number to fill, but not with the Blue Eagles preparing and serving The White Hat yogurt! Last February 13, 2010 at The White Hat Shangri-La Branch, the Ateneo Blue Eagles volunteered to serve yogurt from 1:00-5:00PM to help raise literacy rates through Acts of Hope for the Nation (AHON) Foundation.

The Blue Eagles Team which was attended by Jai, Eric, Vince, Justin, Kirk, Tonino, Emman, Juami, Frank, Bacon, Ryan, Chris, Nico and Oping started serving and entertaining their fans the entire afternoon! The event was truly made even more special with the support of Ateneo De Manila University President Father Ben Nebres, Team Manager Paolo Trillo, Head Coach Norman Black and Chairman of AHON Foundation and President & CEO of Filway Marketing Mr. Hector Tagaysay.

While the Ateneo Blue Eagles started doing their part behind the counter, the AHON volunteers set out to fulfill their respective tasks. The volunteers made their way through the crowd as each volunteer started sweet talking the fans, handing out the folders for bidding while carrying the soon-to-be collector’s item! Personal belongings donated by Chris Tiu were his Championship Shirt & Shorts both signed; an autographed Adidas Basketball and Back-to-Back Championship Poster were also up for bidding. Fret no more! Even if you were outbid by another fan, there is always a chance for you to have an autographed item from your favorite Blue Eagle! You have two options – buy a shirt from Blue Crew and have it signed by everyone or you can always opt for a more personal touch, a Polaroid picture comes in handy to have your photos taken with your eye-candy! For just a minimal fee, you can have your pictures taken and have it signed. Proceeds from the auction, Blue Crew shirt and Polaroid pictures will definitely go to AHON Foundation.

As the Celebrity for Charity comes to an end, another event was being prepared. Just a few hours away, a sweet valentine treat from The White Hat will soon begin. The photo wall was ready; freebies from The Body Shop, Fitness First and Belle De Jour Power Planner were all set to be given away to the first 300 fans to enter the cinema.

An hour before the movie was scheduled to begin, fans and loyal customers started gathering outside the cinema, anxiously waiting for the much awaited date movie from Warner Bros., Valentine’s Day and of course their freebies! As soon as we opened the theater doors, you can feel the excitement and anticipation from the long queue. Vials of Love Etc… from The Body Shop, Free Pass and Goodie Bags from Fitness First, Belle De Jour Power Planner and Free Topping Cards from The White Hat were immediately given away! Minutes before the screening schedule, The White Hat’s Marketing Manager, Mr. Eric Chao graced the event with his speech and a trivia game. Fans were really enthusiastic about the trivia which was sponsored by The Body Shop as we gave away three gift bags of 30ml Eau De Parfum Love Etc… and Love Gloss together with The White Hat Cap and Shirt.

It was truly a day to remember. The White Hat has indeed shared its Love through AHON Foundation by helping them raise funds to build new public libraries and ended the day with the sweetest Valentine treat to all our loyal customers.
